The Hills recap Episode 16 A Night at the Opera

Big girls don’t cry. At least that’s what our mother’s tell us. Looks like it’s adios to Justin Bobby. Was I the only one shocked to see Justin Bobby making an effort at the end? I can’t believe he actually took a shower and washed his hair before he went to see Audrina. He must have known how much trouble he was in and he finally cared enough to make an effort. But it was way too little and way too late.
I’m just glad he was stupid enough to kiss another girl in front of Audrina. It sounds like Audrina had been hearing rumors of Justin Bobby’s behavior and I’m glad she got to see it first hand. It sucks that he pulled something like that in front of Lauren, Brody, and the gang (as well as new enemy Stephanie) but if it gets him out of her life forever, I’m glad. And what was that business about him trying to talk Audrina out of what she saw? Did he think she didn’t see him? It seemed like Justin Bobby thought only Audrina’s friends saw the kiss and he was trying to convince her it didn’t happen. And he was slick enough to try to pull the “your friends don’t like me” card. But not slick enough. It’s a good think Audrina actually saw his behavior or I fear she would have let him talk her out of it. I’ve got some advice for Justin Bobby regardless: If multiple people see you doing something don’t try to deny it. I hope to never mention his name again in this blog unless it’s as an example of a bad boyfriend and a d**che.
What did you make of Spencer’s sister Stephanie? I think her only true fan is Spencer. Did you see Heidi’s reaction when Stephanie suggested she could be the one to marry them? Or when Spencer and Stephanie started talking about destination weddings? And since when does being almost in-laws make you someone’s best friend? Clearly Heidi doesn’t abide by that rule. Stephanie should probably watch out. I think Heidi is only going to put up with so much from her. And have we ever been introduced to Roxy before? I didn’t think Heidi had any friends so I was a little surprised when Roxy was identified as such. And if Roxy is such a good friend of Heidi’s, why has Lauren never met her? I guess that friendship is too new.
So many questions! I think I’m going to keep it short tonight because I can’t wait to hear what you think about these developments. I do have one final question to you about that fateful night at Opera. Were you at all upset with Audrina for talking to Justin Bobby right after the kissing incident? I’m glad Audrina confronted the girl and Justin Bobby but I seriously started losing respect for her when she seemed to be listening to Justin Bobby’s excuses. Sometimes I don’t even understand the words coming out of his mouth. He may have perfected the art of talking gibberish and having people interpret those sounds in a positive way. Am I alone in thinking this? I was so sad for Audrina, but every girl has to experience her “bad boy” in her own way. God knows I have …
MTV The Hills Episode 13 Young Hollywood
Hmm. I don’t consider myself one of those people who find it necessary to label things, especially if it’s early in the relationship. But if you’re hanging out with one person a lot and seeing only that person, I think it’s safe to term what you’re doing as dating.
I think it’s OK if you want to call that person your boyfriend of girlfriend. However, it looks like Justin Bobby isn’t comfortable with those labels. I’m so ready for Audrina to be done with him, especially after the way he was talking to one of the members of the band — was it Mark? — about her. He kept calling her “good.” She’s a “good girl.” She’s “good.” I feel it would be naive of me not to ask this, but was he rating her in some way? Gross. The band seemed cool though. I’m not that into music so I don’t have much to say about their talent. Did you like The Ruse? I like their name, at least.
In other dysfunctional-couple news, Heidi and Spencer celebrate Heidi’s 21st birthday. It was very interesting to watch those two interact tonight, especially after Kimberly and Heidi’s lunch earlier that day. I really like that Kimberly’s older than Heidi and here’s why: She can make Heidi realize what she’s missing by not living it up while she’s young. Who doesn’t go out on their 21st birthday with all their friends and drink until they pass out? Oh, just me? But seriously. That’s a big birthday and it’s fun to spend it with friends and family. I guess it could also be nice to spend that birthday with your significant other but not if you run out of things to say, not if you spend half the night texting. What was that? If Heidi and Spencer are already bored by each other’s company they might have some problems with their marriage.
Enough about people I don’t really care for; let’s talk about Whitney and Lauren. After Linda basically told Whitney the success or failure of the night depended on her, I was feeling a little nervous for our girl. As front-of-the-house, it would be her responsibility to make sure everything went well. Lauren had the back of the house covered beautifully, but who wears walkies and doesn’t use them? I’ve worked plenty of these types of events and communication is vital. It’s impractical to run everyone down when you need to talk to them so I was hoping Whitney would figure out which channel she needed to be on. After a near miss with Hilary Duff, all went smoothly. I’m always so happy — and relieved — when Whitney and Lauren receive praise. I’m glad they did a good job with the show. And kudos to Whitney again for finding such a beautiful space.

The Hills Episode Recap What happens in Vegas

Guys! GUYS! Totes such hotness on “The Hills” last night! The gang all went out to Las Vegas to surprise Brody for his birthday and Lauren FULLY KISSED HIM? I think they may be getting back together! How great is that!? Lauren so deserves love!?! Meanwhile, Audrina TOTALLY THREW A BITCH FIT at her friends and some guy who is only wearing a towel because she thinks the rest of the girls are all, Don’t date Justin Ricky Lee Harvey John Wayne Bobby, but you know what? They were just trying to be friendly to him. And also?!?
She SHOULDN’T date him, he’s a major butt, right?!? Also, they finally let the fat girl talk and they gave her a name, but I forgot it, because, come on, fat girl, right? Also, also, Lauren got flashed by Lo’s vag and was all Brody, I saw Lo’s Britney! Which is so funny, because, like, Britney Spears also has a vagina that she is always flashing? I Anyway, back in L.A.? It’s Spencer and Heidi’s anniversary? And Heidi tells the old dude at Bolthouse that she can’t cover some event because her anniversary is that much more important, even though it’s with Spencer who is a major dick and still won’t tell his parents that they’re engaged? And old dude is all, Fine, whatever, just make sure someone covers it? And Heidi’s like, No problem? So she goes to Elodie—who she TOTALLY SCREWED OVER BEFORE—and is all, Hey, I really need you to cover this for me? And Elodie smiles and is like, Oh, sure, anything for you. Except what we know but Heidi doesn’t even know is that Elodie already made plans to quit her job? So Heidi’s at dinner with Spencer and the phone rings and someone’s all, You need to get down here now? And Heidi’s like, but Elodie’s covering it, and whoever’s on the other end is all, Nuh uh, Elodie quit? And we’re like, Hahahah, that’s what you get, you job-stealing bitch!?!?!?! So Heidi is fully, I have to go to work? And Spencer acts like the big gay baby he is? How does Heidi not see what a stupid mean jerk Spencer can be?!?!?!?!?!?! It, was, like, so, satisfying, oh, my, God, you, guys!?!? Also? This is the last “The Hills” I will ever have to watch?!???!? And it sort of makes me sad, because when I watch “The Hills” I forget about war and poverty and basic math? And I, like, don’t want to go back to caring about stuff or knowing the name of the President or reading books? But I guess I have to? I guess??!?!?!?!?!? Anyway, I’ll miss you, “Hills.” We’ll always have that time where that one girl said that really stupid thing and everyone was all, What? I’ll never forget it.
So these are the questions I have about last night’s episode:
1. What do you think of what Elodie did to Heidi?
2. Do you think there will be another hook up with Jason and Lauren?
3. Was Spencer’s reaction over the top or did he have a right to be upset about Heidi having to leave?
As always, your comments are very much appreciated. One final comment: I wonder what Lauren’s rival Kristen is up to these days … Ta ta.
The Hills Episode 6 Recap Second Chances
Heidi sucks. Somewhere in the deep, dark recesses of my mind I held out hope that Heidi was redeemable. When we first met her she seemed like a naive young woman who was easily led astray by the men she dated. “She’s young,” I said. “She can be forgiven.” Heidi seemed to learn her lesson from dating what’s-his-name (sorry, I really don’t remember) in the first season. She vowed to be a better friend to Lauren and to never get so wrapped up in her relationship that her friends suffered. And then came Spencer. She fell for him hard and fast, but a light appeared at the end of the tunnel when Spencer was exposed for what he really was. Still, Heidi took him back and now they’re engaged. But wait: Then Heidi showed a spark of individuality and maybe even defiance when she painted her apartment all white, covering up Spencer’s precious art. So I thought there was hope. But now I’m done with hope. I can’t believe she stabbed Elodie in the back like that. I’m fine with her going for the job, but she should have been upfront with her coworker. It’s the decent thing to do. I’m finally ready to say I think Heidi is as bad as Spencer. At the rate she’s going she won’t have any friends left to ask to be her bridesmaids. Heidi’s out of chances with me.
Hello, bombshell… well, sort of. For any of you out there addicted to Perez Hilton, as I will admit I am, (or you caught the “this season on… ” clips) you knew there was some sort of reunion between Lauren and her bad-boy ex Jason. I liked their little rendezvous. Jason looks healthier and hopefully his reappearance in her life won’t cause too much drama. I do worry about Lauren, though. She’s admitted that she allowed herself to fall for him and get swept up. Now she claims she’s being cautious, but I think her eyes are giving her away. You can tell she still cares deeply for Jason and I think her facials are indicating that there are still some deep feelings there. We’ll just have to wait and see. He’s allowed his second chance. For now.
And the never-ending saga that is Audrina and Justin Bobby. I might be wrong but tonight, for the first time, I felt like the editors of this show might be telling parts of the story out of order. Based on what we saw two weeks ago I thought Audrina had a much stronger reason for not taking Justin Bobby’s calls than she did this week. I mean, I’m not a fan so I’m fine with her taking his calls never. That’s another relationship that I just don’t get. He should be out of chances by now. Sigh. Will we ever learn? I’m talking about both boys and girls here. I mean, what was that with Derek? During his first date with Lauren he told her he liked her more than any other girl he’s dated? What was that line about him dating a girl in high school for seven years? Was he serious about asking Lauren to marry him? I’m pretty sure he was just playing to the camera, but dude, chill. Lauren’s never “wanted to stab herself in the eye more” and if that line works on someone, good luck. I want to say something really snobby about bridge-and-tunnel people here since Derek’s from New Jersey. But OK, that was snarky enough and I don’t mean to imply everyone from the Garden State is like Derek. I know they’re not.
Interesting L.A. digs:
Equinox — I think not belonging to a gym is deemed as bad as being a smoker. Everyone does it here.
Lola’s — looked like a great place for a date. Next time, maybe the ladies will choose their men more wisely.
Champman Coffeehouse — A “quaint” little meeting place for Lauren and Jason. It looked cute.
If you’d like to share, please feel free to do so below. I’d love to hear your thoughts about Heidi and Lauren’s behavior.
Work questions: Have you ever stabbed a coworker in the back for a promotion? Is it ever acceptable to sabotage someone at work?
Personal-life questions: Do you think it’s too soon for Lauren to see Jason again? What would someone you love have to do for you to cut the cord?
