[EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW: Please credit Bestweekever.tv]I don’t normally watch MTV’s pseudo-reality dope opera The Hills (because I’m not much of masochist), but when I heard Gavin Beasley (a successful model and actor who just so happened to be a high school friend of mine) would be taking Lauren Conrad out on a date in this week’s episode, I simply had to tune in to this strange collision of my past and present. After seeing the show, and seeing Gavin (who’s really a cool, funny guy) manipulated to seem lame and boring to better fit the part of “dude who’s supposed to make Brody jealous”, I decided to look him up for his side of the story. During our candid session of “catch-up”, my school chum revealed several amusing anecdotes about his experience behind the scenes of The Hills, including some bombshells about his experiences with the producers that suggest – brace yourselves – the show might not be as representative of “reality” as we’ve been led to believe! There are a lot of Reality Show Victims in this country, and Gavin is one of them. This is his story:

Alright, man. I’m just gonna come right out and ask: how the hell did you get involved with this televised Crazy Carnival?

Last year I was booked on an editorial modeling gig, posing with Lauren for this interview she did in People Magazine (ED NOTE: photo after the jump). We got along, and she kept trying to set me up with Heidi, because she was on a break from Spencer or something back then, and Lauren was trying to get her to move on. But nothing ever happened with that and Lauren was dating Jason (Wahler) at the time, so we didn’t keep in touch at all. Then in August I got a call from my agency to go to a casting call for Teen Vogue, and Lauren and the camera crews just so happened to be there. She remembered me from our shoot, and the next thing I know, a producer’s asking me to ask Lauren for her number, and I’m signing release forms and being shot for The Hills. They wanted me to ask her about the runway show, how long she had worked that day, when would she get off, stuff like that.

That’s insane. So was your whole experience on the show like that?

Absolutely, from the very beginning. Like, they totally set up the BBQ scene for Brody and I to meet each other and talk because, as they said, “the audience would get a kick out of seeing ‘the ex’ talking to ‘the new guy’.” So they rent this house in Malibu for a set, bought a bunch of food and drinks, and just filmed us hanging out. Brody would talk all this sh*t, then be like, “Sorry about that, we’re just trying to make good television.” Like at one point, some other dude walked up to us while we were talking, and Brody goes, “We’re trying to film a scene here. Do you mind?”, like he’s interrupting our lines. Haha, it was some of the best acting I’ve ever done.

Would you say Bro-Dog Jenner is a Cooler Dude in person, on TV, or just Totally Cool everywhere, all the time?

The interesting thing is Brody – off camera – was a pretty chill guy. When the show came out and he was saying stuff about me – like I was short, too perfect, boring, etc – I didn’t get pissed because I know that’s all solely done for The Hills. He creates drama and a storyline. That’s why he is there.

So the big date with Lauren. What did you two actually talk about for the hours and hours you spent together that we didn’t see on the show?

I honestly had a really hard time talking to her – she’s kind of a conversation killer, and when the cameras are rolling, all conversation is kept firmly on the surface. She talked about how mean Perez Hilton was, and how you have to be nice to the Paparazzi so they don’t release the uglier pictures of you. I don’t know – pop culture, Red Bull, stuff like that. In fact, the most interesting thing I got out of her was that she isn’t allowed to eat ice cream because her trainer told her she can’t.

That sounds like some riveting dinner discussion.

Ha, yeah. What you see is really what you get with these people. Lots of fascinating discussion about “the club”, Vegas, getting drunk, Heidi is evil, and so on. The lack of depth was actually uncomfortable for me. Like, how can nothing be everything you talk about? OH, I forgot – lots of talk about Lauren’s clothing line. That’s pretty important, right?

So let’s discuss about Nail-Polish-Gate. Some websites (I think mostly MySpace blogs written by teenagers who actually care about this stuff) are making a big scandal about the fact that Lauren was wearing red nail polish on your date, and when she got home and immediately (as we’re led to believe) called Bro-Dog, the nail polish was GONE, which suggest that The Hills MIGHT NOT REALLY BE REAL. Please, tell us this is not true.

Well here’s the thing. The show makes it seem like she got home from the date earlier, but in reality we hung out at The Grove for a couple hours after dinner (for some reason she took me to Barnes & Noble to show me this book they made about Season 1 of The Hills), then later went to the club Les Deux, and stayed out until about 2:30 or so. I don’t know what she did when I dropped her off, but if that’s “early night” for those two, they must have Insomnia.

What does Lauren smell like? My guess is Jolly Ranchers, Rose Petal body spray and medication?

She was odorless.

Dammit. So how did this big adventure finally end?

Well we shot all this back in August, and I didn’t film anything else, nor did I talk to Lauren again after our date night. Someone from MTV called two weeks later to see about me asking Lauren and Whitney out on a double date, but nothing happened with that. In fact, I actually feel like I had more of a relationship with my MTV contact than I ever did with Lauren.

Is there anything else you’d like us to know?

Well, this is sort of silly, but I ordered that Salmon Roll for myself and Lauren said she would like to try a piece, so of course MTV edited the scene to make it look like I’m force-feeding her the salmon that she hates, which I would never do on a date. Also, I guess people should just try to remember that this is all entertainment, and just as I’m not the boring dork they made me out to be, Lauren and the other people on the show are sometimes capable of being nice, decent, funny people. Except for Spencer, I hear he’s really like that.

In a surprising twist, this week’s episode of The Hills focused almost entirely on LC and Whitney’s jobs and responsibilities at Teen Vogue, and did not feature Heidi Montag on screen for a second. Maybe MTV is finally hearing what the people want and that is no more Heidi.

With the all-important Fashion Week right around the corner, Whitney Port and Lauren Conrad were sent New York City by their boss, Lisa Love, to discuss the party-planning for a magazine bash at Teen Vogue’s Manhattan HQ.

Upon arriving in the Big Apple, Whitney Port learns she will be all alone giving the big presentation to the management team – Team Whitney! – while LC is sent off to assist at a Marc Jacobs model casting session across town.

In front of the Teen Vogue brain trust, Whitney Port is sweating bullets in her hot dress (which raises eyebrows) as she attempts to explain her plan for the big bash to the executives, who keep throwing her harder questions she wasn’t planning on! Whitney holds her own, but it’s tough out there in the corporate world.

But our girl pulls through, and upon reuniting with Lauren at the hotel, learns that Lauren met Marc Jacobs himself. Like, OMG. Perhaps more impressively, she left the event without getting any guys’ numbers, unlike the previous model casting event (during which she met a young fellow named Gavin Beasley).

Meanwhile, back in SoCal, Frankie Delgado tells Spencer Pratt to stop being such a little bitch (our words, not his) and call Brody Jenner to end their dude feud.

It turns out Spencer does call, but it’s Brody Jenner who wants nothing to do with him. LC tells Brody how she doesn’t want to be responsible for the boys’ break-up, but Brody assures her it’s his decision not to patch things up with Spencer. Nice.  Brody is such a hottie to me and he just keeps getting better looking all the time.

Is Brody “the One”?  Haha!  Lauren seems to be looking a little love struck every time she’s around Brody.  I cracked up when Lauren said “I haven’t been on a date in like 3 weeks”. 3 weeks, really?!  If that’s bad, then my world must be really messed up and loveless.  Lauren and Gavin go on a date to a sushi restaurant and it goes, like, okay, but just okay.  He was most def a little too boring for my taste, but a really nice guy.     On her way home, Lauren Conrad calls Brody Jenner to tell him he’s right – Gavin was a bit boring. LC asks if he wants to come over and watch a movie. He asks which one. She says, “Does it matter?” OMG!

In gigantic tool news, Spencer Pratt continues to struggle with time constraints thrust upon him by Heidi Montag having an actual job. Every time Heidi must leave for a work commitment, Spencer acts legitimately put out.  I LMAO when Heidi said “Why don’t you try it”? to Spencer when they had the discussion about her having to go to work.  Ha!

I don’t know, Spencer is either super mature or he’s gotta be completely making this $h!t up for the sake of ratings. No guy actually cares about anniversaries… especially when they can’t even buy a real engagement – or tell their parents they’re engaged. Whatevs.

It was Brody???  And we’re back to the sex tape. I think Spencer is the one who started the rumor. Given everything we know about him and how he operates I just don’t think it’s a stretch to think he’d be capable of something like this. We know how much he dislikes Lauren. Is it really that hard to believe he’s the culprit? Of course, I have no firsthand knowledge of anything so I can’t say with complete certainty that he did it. But come on. Does anyone really think it wasn’t him? Except Heidi? Was it just me or did she seem just the tiniest bit unsure in the last few seconds of the episode? I just don’t understand that relationship.It’s good that Audrina and Lauren seem to have their friendship back on track. I’m not sure I would have apologized to Audrina for being so overprotective of her. Yes, Lauren went through a lot last year. And yes, she’s trying to be a good friend by warning her friends away from guys who don’t seem to appreciate them. I think she did a good thing in trying to salvage her friendship with Audrina, but I personally couldn’t have apologized for giving her a hard time about Justin Bobby. He just doesn’t come across as a great guy. Has Audrina conveniently forgotten that Justin Bobby has abandoned her twice — once in Vegas and once at Brody’s? I don’t care what his excuse was. It’s not cool. I think it’s reasonable to expect your boyfriend to leave with you if you’ve gone someplace together.

What’s with Jen Bunny playing both sides? I know she’s not really, but she does seem to be stuck in the middle. She finally made up with Lauren and she’s also trying to keep her friendship with Heidi going. It’s got to be hard when she’s getting different information from all sides and trying to make sense of it all. I’m sure she doesn’t want to believe Heidi (and to a lesser degree Spencer) is responsible for the rumor. Heidi stayed friends with her when she had her falling-out with Lauren, so I’m sure she feels some loyalty towards Heidi. But did she forget that Heidi was the one who encouraged her to go after Brody, thereby causing this big rift in the first place? It’s interesting how all these people become so conveniently forgetful.

One person who isn’t going to let Heidi forget so easily is her boss, Brent Bolthouse. Good. She needs to take responsibility for her screwup. Even if Elodie bailed on her, she should have talked to her boss just to keep him in the loop. I’m glad she got some flak about it. She needs to realize how much work she has to put in to prove she actually earned that promotion. Actually, I’m not sure she can prove that, but it would be nice to see her actually busting her a– to prove herself. Whatev.

Well, all of last night’s drama was well worth the extra week’s wait for me at least.

Guys! GUYS! Totes such hotness on “The Hills” last night! The gang all went out to Las Vegas to surprise Brody for his birthday and Lauren FULLY KISSED HIM? I think they may be getting back together! How great is that!? Lauren so deserves love!?! Meanwhile, Audrina TOTALLY THREW A BITCH FIT at her friends and some guy who is only wearing a towel because she thinks the rest of the girls are all, Don’t date Justin Ricky Lee Harvey John Wayne Bobby, but you know what? They were just trying to be friendly to him. And also?!?

She SHOULDN’T date him, he’s a major butt, right?!? Also, they finally let the fat girl talk and they gave her a name, but I forgot it, because, come on, fat girl, right? Also, also, Lauren got flashed by Lo’s vag and was all Brody, I saw Lo’s Britney! Which is so funny, because, like, Britney Spears also has a vagina that she is always flashing? I Anyway, back in L.A.? It’s Spencer and Heidi’s anniversary? And Heidi tells the old dude at Bolthouse that she can’t cover some event because her anniversary is that much more important, even though it’s with Spencer who is a major dick and still won’t tell his parents that they’re engaged? And old dude is all, Fine, whatever, just make sure someone covers it? And Heidi’s like, No problem? So she goes to Elodie—who she TOTALLY SCREWED OVER BEFORE—and is all, Hey, I really need you to cover this for me? And Elodie smiles and is like, Oh, sure, anything for you. Except what we know but Heidi doesn’t even know is that Elodie already made plans to quit her job? So Heidi’s at dinner with Spencer and the phone rings and someone’s all, You need to get down here now? And Heidi’s like, but Elodie’s covering it, and whoever’s on the other end is all, Nuh uh, Elodie quit? And we’re like, Hahahah, that’s what you get, you job-stealing bitch!?!?!?! So Heidi is fully, I have to go to work? And Spencer acts like the big gay baby he is? How does Heidi not see what a stupid mean jerk Spencer can be?!?!?!?!?!?! It, was, like, so, satisfying, oh, my, God, you, guys!?!? Also? This is the last “The Hills” I will ever have to watch?!???!? And it sort of makes me sad, because when I watch “The Hills” I forget about war and poverty and basic math? And I, like, don’t want to go back to caring about stuff or knowing the name of the President or reading books? But I guess I have to? I guess??!?!?!?!?!? Anyway, I’ll miss you, “Hills.” We’ll always have that time where that one girl said that really stupid thing and everyone was all, What? I’ll never forget it.

So these are the questions I have about last night’s episode:

1.  What do you think of what Elodie did to Heidi?

2.  Do you think there will be another hook up with Jason and Lauren?

3.  Was Spencer’s reaction over the top or did he have a right to be upset about Heidi having to leave?

The Hills resident hottie, Brody Jenner was caught leaving Opera over the weekend by TMZ’s cameras.  Brody was seen leaving the club with a cute blonde and brunette as the crew piled into a waiting Bentley.  Brody is obviously feeling no pain from the drama on the show with him and Lauren these days.

In a move that can only be described as questionable, Lauren Conrad apparently made out with Cisco Adler at a VMA pre-party. I’m pretty sure that Lauren is wishing what happened in Vegas stayed in Vegas…

In another “what was she thinking move,” The Hills’s good girl, Lauren Conrad, was caught making out with the questionable Cisco Adler, at Christina Aguilera’s party on Saturday night.

“You really saw them making out,” E!’s Planet Gossip maven asked her source.

“I did,” she said. “And I heard Brody Jenner was pissed.”

Cisco, who used to date Mischa Barton, is hardly good enough for L.C., but Lauren, admittedly, just can’t stay away from the bad boys.

I don’t know guys. What do you think?  My source says the story is absolutly true. I can honestly says I am not a fan of Cisco Adler and that gross photo of him a while back didn’t help. Whatev.

2. Whitney thinks that Spencer’s new attitude towards Brody is very ‘high school’, and Lauren has to agree. The best part of this scene is when Laurens all “yeah did u know my parents were gonna name me Tiffany or Crystal”. Then Whitney’s all –>  .

Together, they both mockingly say “TIFF” “TIFF” & “CRYS”"CRYS”.
LOL u have to see it. Its hard to explain.

3.  Okay so there’s J-Bob & Aud (my new nicknames for them so its faster to type lol)
The date was kinda sorta awkward.

The best part; for me; was when Brody says “what a little b*tch!” after Spencer hangs up on him. hahha spencer is a little b*tch.

Episode 4 – Meet the Parents

I was at my cousin’s house when i watched this episode so i was only half paying attention, so i don’t have much to say bout it, i only saw Justin Bobby’s horrible combat boots that he wore on the beach and when Audrina started crying ’cause he ditched her. I found this recap on google though.

Episode Recap: “Meet the Parents”I could be wrong, but I don’t think Heidi’s parents are as in love with Spencer as Heidi is. Spencer seemed to be on his very best behavior until Heidi’s mom mentioned Lauren’s name, and then his nice-guy facade crumbled. Did you see Heidi’s parents’ reaction when Spencer started calling Lauren names? I mean, he was pretty harsh. I don’t think Lauren’s a “spoiled, selfish little girl who doesn’t want to share Heidi with anyone.” I think Lauren made a real effort to get along with Spencer last year. And I think she was rightfully done with him when he continued to treat Heidi like crap in the beginning of their relationship. Yeah, Heidi and Spencer are engaged now, but it doesn’t mean Spencer’s not a jerk. I think he’s doing right by Heidi right now, but there’s something (well, many things) about that guy that I just don’t like. And you can’t trust him, either.

Lo is back for The Hills Seson 3. Lo joined Lauren, Audrina and Whitney in Las Vegas to help Brody Jenner celebrate his brithday for the second time this month. Brody’s first birthday party was in Miami a few weeks ago. You may have seen the photo of Brody dousing himself with champagne. NEway, it’s good to see Lo back and it’s also good that Heidi and Spencer did not perform “Body Language” again in Vegas. LC and Lo look cute in the DJ booth and the party looked fun. We will all be seeing the party in furture episodes of The Hills Season 3.
